Orange County Utilities (OCU) provides water resources and solid waste recovery services to protect and enrich the lives of the citizens and guests of Orange County Florida. The Water Division ensures a safe and reliable water supply for all of Orange County Utilities’ customers. The Water Division operates four regional water supply facilities and eight satellite water supply facilities that collectively produce approximately 60 million gallons per day.
The Water Division is seeking a highly qualified Utilities Services Specialist. This position will be responsible for the collection, accuracy, management and analysis of data, scheduling of maintenance for Water infrastructure, procurement of materials, asset documentation, etc. Work involves communicating with division staff, vendors and other Orange County personnel. Work is performed under limited supervision and is reviewed for compliance with division objectives and policies for the achievement of desired results.

General Functions
Performs responsible utilities work associated with handling of customers and municipalities. Responsible for answering program hotline calls and/or field visits to customers. Investigates and resolves field problems. Researches, compiles and analyzes data for use in reports and meetings. Based on area of responsibility may be responsible for schools presentations for the program specified by the department. Programs could include recycling, mandatory refuse, water conservation or water reuse. Work requires independent judgment under the supervision of a designated supervisor.
Representative Duties/Assignments
Below is the list of potential duties. The specific responsibilities will depend on the area of assignment and may only include some of those listed.
Graduation with an Associate's degree and two years of utilities related experience in in data management, clerical, or administration responsibilities; or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
May require a valid Florida Driver's License with in six months of hire. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Must possess advanced MS Office skills

- Monitors, maintains, and promotes data integrity in Maximo through regular audits, user training, and technical support.
- Supports continuous improvement in generation, standardization, and timely completion of work orders, including preventive maintenance work orders, troubleshooting and providing guidance and support as necessary.
- Creates, modifies, audits, and maintains data in Maximo modules (i.e. Work Order Tracking, Assets, Planning, Preventive Maintenance, Purchasing, Inventory, etc.) according to the established procedures.
- Develops and executes reports in Maximo and Excel.
- Supports maintenance and operations efforts at water facilities. Communicates effectively with management and field staff to ensure data quality and work timeliness and efficiency.
- Creates, screens, routes, schedules, performs quality control of work orders in Maximo.
- Prepares purchase requisitions and processes procurement card orders. Maintains backorder status on purchased items and follows up on all delayed orders.
- Obtains price quotes for purchases from a variety of sources including vendors, websites and catalogs. Contacts vendors for availability and delivery schedules. Ensure all quotes and paperwork are in compliance with Orange County policies.
- Validates that receipts/invoices from vendors accurately reflect ordering information. Performs materials receiving, staging and issuing as necessary.
- Assists in managing and organizing division’s assets, including tracking and documenting their status, condition, location, and lifecycle, ensuring accurate data entry in Maximo.
- Develops and maintains reports in Power BI; Ensures accuracy and reliability of data presented in Power BI.
- Support key initiatives within the Operations Support group to enhance operational efficiency and achieve organizational goals.
- Performs miscellaneous administrative duties and gathers other information as directed by management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
