Oregon Food Manager - The Job
The Oregon food manager is responsible for ensuring all trips have their food available and prepped at the warehouse before trip launch. This person is responsible for ensuring shopping happens, high quality food is prepped and sent out ready to be used in the field, and appropriate portion control occurs.
The Oregon Food Manager will:
- Look at what trips are coming up and in a timely fashion, ensure all required food to accommodate upcoming trips is shopped for so all materials are at the building to pack and prep.
- Shop for trips, ensuring high quality ingredients are used while also being cost sensitive and meeting purchasing spend goals.
- Have pre-prep work done and portions pre-packed so guides can arrive the morning of their trip and find their food accurately accounted for and organized in a way making it easy to pack and verify they have what they need.
- Use our meal packing software to help pack for trips ensure guides have the tools to be successful in the field.
- Work with guides in the field to adjust the quantities and menu based on guide/guest feedback.
- Work with the Oregon manager to improve our food offerings and culinary experience wherever possible.
Location
- This position operates out of our Oregon warehouse at 210 Merlin Rd. Merlin, Oregon. 97532. Remote work is not possible.
Time
- This is a part-time, seasonal position starting in May and ending in November. Position will ramp up to expecting 30-40 hours per week June-October.
Qualifications
Skills
- Detail oriented

- Problem solver with ability to adapt and adjust.
- Good at working as part of a team.
- Strong communicator
- Culinary training is ideal
- Able to manage costs and modify on the fly.
- Ability to work with computer based menu planning software.
- Ability to take feedback on the menu or packing while not personalizing that feedback as a reflection of the work done.
Experience
- 5 years working in food service
- Proven experience as a buyer in food service
- Chef experience preferred
Salary : $16 - $20
