Job Responsibilities
To perform various maintenance, installation, repair, and construction related tasks; operate motorized grounds maintenance and storage equipment.
Performs equipment corrective and preventative maintenance as needed.
Performs drywall repair and finishing; prepares, cleans and paints designated areas of the campus
Performs general plumbing, routine maintenance tasks, and carpentry as needed.
Assists with electrical and low voltage repairs and installations under the supervision of the Campus Trades Supervisor.
Responsible for performing in-house improvements as directed by supervision.
Operates college tractors and forklift as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Trade experience directly related to area of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, and supplies used in the designated trade; Knowledge of safety practices relevant to the area of employment; skill in the use of various trade tools and equipment; skill in making emergency and general repairs and adjustments to equipment used in building / grounds work; ability to understand and follow instruction, ability to use judgement and initiative to complete routing work without constant supervision.
Additional Comments
Duties frequently require stooping, bending, climbing and must be able to routinely lift 25-30 pounds and up to 50 pounds.
