Job Description: This position is in the Aircraft Carrier Design and Systems Engineering Directorate (SEA 05V) at Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). This position will be at the Washington Navy Yard The incumbent serves as the Correspondence Manager supporting the team's senior management of both the NIMITZ and FORD Class teams.
Specific duties and responsibilities include:
- Oversee the Aircraft Engineering Team correspondence processes.
- Assist the Configuration Manager
- Maintain paper and electronic files
- Assist with the development of award packages for personnel awards.
- Assist Office Manager with seating and computer assets; seating charts; and organizational charts.
- Assist with the gathering of inputs and produce bi-weekly highlights reports and SEA05V Newsletter; track corporate metrics and produce reports; track data and develop other reports as directed.
- Assist with requests for Navy and Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) and Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPI) computer accounts.
- Assist with the support of Carrier Engineering Team offsites and social events.
- Candidate must be highly motivated, independent, and self-starter, able to manage their own projects and coordinate the work with multiple engineers. Must be comfortable managing multiple projects at one time with competing schedules.
Required Skills and Experiences:
- Minimum:
- 3 years experience with correspondence and records management or military experience as an E-5 or above in Yeoman or Personnel Specialist fields
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
- Experience with the Microsoft Office 365 suite of business applications
- Good interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Preferred:
- Prior active-duty experience in Navy, Coast Guard, or Merchant Marines
- Experience with or at a shipyard, Naval Surface/Undersea Warfare Center (NSWC/NUWC), Supervisor of Shipbuilding Command (SUPSHIP), Regional Maintenance Center (RMC), and/or Type Commander (TYCOM) supporting construction, operation, maintenance, modernization, and/or repair of shipboard systems
- Experience working with ship program offices in an administrative role
- Experience with control of classified and U-NNPI documents and data
- Experience supporting senior-level Navy managers (GS 15, CAPT, SES)
Degree Requirements:
- 4-yr degree in any field; may be substituted with a HS degree or GED and 10 years related experience
Must be a U.S. citizen.
SECRET security clearance must be fully adjudicated and considered "final".
