Orbis is looking for a Systems Administrator to support our company. The IT Systems Administrator assists in the streamlined operation of the IT Department in alignment with the business objectives of the organization. The IT Systems Administrator will primarily execute implementations of technology as well as troubleshoot and maintain existing platforms, of platforms (Messaging, Storage, Telecom, Virtualization, Networking, Active Directory, etc.) and perform maintenance. They will maintain process consistency, assist end-users, and make improvement recommendations to management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Review and maintain troubleshooting procedures, operations manuals, and user guidance.
- Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, networks, applications, and security.
- On-call availability.
- Manage System Backups.
- Install and configure software and hardware.
- Provide end-user technical Support.
- Maintain network and system security.
- Conduct user/account management functions
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge of network technologies, server operating systems, Active Directory, and Cloud technologies including Azure/365.
- Technical knowledge of current network and server hardware protocols and standards.
- Experience with service desk systems such as HappyFox.
- Extensive end-user systems and application support experience.
- Strong working knowledge and troubleshooting in Microsoft operating systems.
- Knowledge of firewalls, access lists and systems security.
- Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
- Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, phones, security updates and patches.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve user issues as well as interact with systems as required.
- Ability to conduct research into IT issues and products as required.
- Ability to present ideas in business/user-friendly language.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
- Exceptional customer service orientation.
EDUCATION
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience is required
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read, analyse, and interpret general business reports, periodicals, professional journals, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to prepare presentations, write reports and business correspondence with limited or no errors.
- Ability to effectively and persuasively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- None required.
- Certifications in Networking, Security, Microsoft and/or Linux platforms preferred.
PHYSCIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Routine video conference and/or in-person meetings.
- Ability to attend planned meetings within the Washington Metro Area region.
