Job Summary
The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science is seeking an Events Coordinator. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.
This position works closely with the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) leadership team to deliver school events and programming for internal and external stakeholders, supporting outreach efforts to help the school and College of Engineering to reach their goals and objectives. This position is responsible for the full scope of event coordination from design to implementation. The events are associated with the goals of the school’s undergraduate, graduate, and Ecampus programs as well as those of the College of Engineering. Audiences for these events include students, industry partners, prospective, students, and others. This position is responsible for tracking data and providing reports and other needed information to the school’s Corporate Relations office, the College of Engineering, and the OSU Foundation.

Key Responsibilities
60% Program/Event Coordination:
Designs, manages, promotes, and executes internal and external events and programs with input from the school head; the Corporate Relations and Communications Coordinator; and the associate heads for undergraduate, graduate, research, and Ecampus programs. Works with various campus groups and external vendors to secure venues, equipment, food and beverage, audio and visual equipment, accommodations, and other event needs. Manages event budget, registration, promotion, and other event information. The events and programs include networking events with industry supporters, graduate student visits and orientation, undergraduate seminars, the undergraduate Engineering Expo, research symposia, school retreats, the EECS Graduation Celebration, and college and university activities in which the school is asked to participate.
20% Reporting and Data Management:
Acquires and records data on events and programs and prepares reports for the school and college leadership as well as the OSU Foundation. Provides CRM support. Gathers additional data and research as needed.
10% Collaboration and Student Training:
Collaborates with the corporate relations and industry partnerships team, the digital marketing specialist, and other school, college, and university personnel to support and enhance school’s programs. Represents the school on select committees and task forces as assigned; to include, but not limited to: student success, college outreach and recruiting, and other EECS committees. Trains and leads student workers.
10% Professional Development and Other duties as assigned:
Works collaboratively with staff, faculty, and students to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment.
Identify and participate in professional development opportunities which will aid in success within job functions.
What You Will Need
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Communications, English, or related field
- 2 years of experience in event and program coordination.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated professionalism and commitment to providing high quality service to stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
- Experience using Sales Force and/or CRM platforms .
- Moderate level Excel proficiency
- Demonstrated quality oral and written communication abilities especially when dealing with distressed stakeholders.
- Commitment to contributing to and participating in a collaborative and inclusive work environment
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Prior experience working with Adobe InDesign and other Adobe software.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.

- Experience running large scale events.
- Professional experience in an institution of higher education.
- Demonstrated graphic design skills.
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
Typical work schedule will be Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm. Work outside of standard hours required occasionally in support of school events. Remote work allowed through agreement with supervisor (will not be 100% remote.) Ability to lift 15 to 30 pounds.
