What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cannabis Post-Harvest Technician position at ORG Services?
The Cannabis Post-Harvest Technician will be responsible for harvesting, curing, and trimming duties. The person in this role will work closely with the Operations Manager and Cultivation Manager on production planning and inventory management. Detailed recordkeeping and strict adherence to the company’s standard operating procedures and compliance with the state regulations are essential for this position.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for scheduling and performing all post-harvest activities including drying, shucking, trimming, and curing of flower and biomass.
- Ensures all inventory is managed properly in the company’s inventory software and in strict compliance with the state mandated Biotrack tracking system and company SOPs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills/Competencies required:
- Knowledge of large-scale cannabis harvest and cure-related activities.
- Must have a strong understanding of analytical instrumentation related to commercial cannabis drying and curing duties. Proficient with equipment for testing water activity, moisture analysis, microscope/loupe, etc.
- Experience working with trim/cure- related equipment and implements.
- Ensure compliance with appropriate state and federal regulations such as Department of Consumer Protection, EPA, OSHA, DOL, FDA, etc.
- Strong attention to detail, especially when dealing with biomass, data-tracking, and recordkeeping.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment to accomplish company objectives with either direct or indirect authority.
- Excellent prioritization, planning, organization, time management and multitasking skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft 365. Biotrack experience a plus.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience working in the cannabis field is preferred.
- Active listening and effective verbal and written communication skills,
- Basic understanding of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and particularly those governing cannabis.
- Must be willing to submit to a criminal background check.
