Job Title: Equipment Operator / Facility Yard Waste Supervisor

Job Summary:
The Equipment Operator/Facility Yard Waste Supervisor is responsible for the complete operation of the yard waste processing facility. This independent role involves operating and maintaining heavy equipment, managing incoming organic materials, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and keeping accurate records of all yard waste transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Operation & Maintenance:
- Operate heavy machinery, including front end loader and forklift.
- Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
- Identify and troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate necessary repairs.
Facility Operations & Record-Keeping:
- Manage the intake, sorting, processing, and distribution of yard waste materials.
- Inspect and repair pallets as needed.
- Ensure efficient workflow to maximize productivity and minimize waste contamination.
- Create and maintain yard waste tickets for each load processed, including details such as date, customer name (if applicable), type of waste, quantity, and ticket number.
- Log all ticket information into the yard waste spreadsheet to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
- Monitor inventory levels of processed materials and coordinate distribution as needed.
- Keep the facility clean, organized, and compliant with all regulations.
Regulatory Compliance & Safety:
- Follow all local, state, and federal regulations related to organic waste processing and environmental protection.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure working environment.
- Maintain accurate records of material intake, processing, and outgoing shipments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training in heavy equipment operation preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in equipment operation.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and environmental compliance.
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Physically capable of lifting heavy objects, working outdoors in various weather conditions, and performing manual labor as needed.
Work Environment:
- Outdoor work environment with exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions.
- Requires ability to stand, walk, lift, and operate machinery for extended periods.
Job Type: Full-time
