What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Technician position at Orgill?

PRIMARY FUNCTION

The HR Tech contributes to the accomplishment of HR practices and objectives that will provide a high-performance customer centered culture. The Human Resources Technician assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties involving payroll.  The HR Tech carries out administrative responsibilities in all functions and duties as indicated.  Job responsibilities could change based on needs in the department.  

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist and back-up all aspects of payroll including step increases and year end increases.     
  • Partner with Managers and Supervisors to assist, train and resolve any issues with payroll concerns in Kronos.
  • Responsible for assisting employees in the Boot or Shoe Program. Processing the invoices to corporate for payment and setting up weekly deductions on PlanSource.
  • Responsible for processing Attendance notifications and entry into the HRIS system.
  • Assist employees with HR questions and concerns.
  • Process gym reimbursement to employees.
  • Process weekly payroll
  • Review Kronos and PlanSource for accuracy and identify ways to utilize systems more effectively using queries and reports. Responsible for tracking part time hours.
  • Responsible for identifying eligibility for perfect attendance awards monthly, quarterly and bi-yearly.  
  • Responsible for year-end Kronos and PlanSource changes that reflect accurate vacation, STD accruals and new wages for distribution and drivers. 
  • Learn all HR functions and support these roles in their absence.
  • Maintain HR Tech desk manual. 
  • Assist with Workers Compensation.
  • Assist with Safety and Orientations.
  • All other duties as assigned by the HR Manager when needed. *

    REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

    • HR experience required
    • Payroll experience preferred
    • Working knowledge of a HRIS and Time Management System. 
    • Intermediate to advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
    • Exceptionally strong interpersonal and written/verbal communications skills.
    • Strong focus on customer service required and ability to maintain confidentiality is a must.
    • Ability to work with very diverse groups of employees at all levels of authority.
    • Must have a strong professional commitment to Human Resources.
    • Strong organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to balance several priorities from multiple sources required.
    • Flexibility and adaptability in dealing with rapidly changing priorities and demands necessary.
    • Must have a strong initiative and the ability to work independently with minimal direction/supervision.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to meet competing deadlines under pressure while maintaining accuracy and strong attention to detail.  
    • Excellent follow through on commitments, using sound judgment with the ability to recognize and handle sensitive/confidential information.
    • Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing to comply with all safety policies and practices.  
    • Must be willing and able to work overtime when needed.
    • Must be a team player with a can-do attitude.  
    • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
    • Excellent attendance and predictability is a must.

    DESIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

    • High School diploma with an Associates degree preferred.
