What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Assistant position at Oriana House, Inc.?
Pay: $14.00/hour (May hire at a higher rate depending on experience)
Schedule: Monday - Friday (9am-5pm)
Essential functions of this job include, but are not limited to:
- Performs testing procedures on urine specimens.
- Ensures chain of custody guidelines are followed at all times.
- Accurately maintains quality control and maintenance of drug testing instruments and alco-sensor equipment.
- Maintains laboratory equipment (cleaning, calibrating, repairing) and accurately completes all necessary paperwork.
- Effectively performs office or clerical duties when necessary (i.e., filing, answering the telephone, and performing accurate data entry related to reporting test results).
- Ensures adequate laboratory supplies are available.
- Participates in Proficiency Testing.
- Assists Drug Testing Coordinator with training employees on urine collection and alco-sensor policies and procedures.
- Assists Drug Testing Coordinator with various duties and/or projects.
- Maintains cleanliness of laboratory.
- Accurately prepares chemical solutions according to manufacturer’s standards and in accordance with requirements set by applicable regulatory agencies.
- Picks up and delivers laboratory specimens to designated work areas.
Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent required. Prior UDS lab experience desired. Must have the ability to effectively work with Agency employees and outside contacts.
