Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Dock Hand to join our team. As a Dock Hand, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the dock area, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the dock.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
-Train and instruct guests on the safe and proper use of all rental boats
- Check in and check out rentals
- Fuel rentals upon return
-Pump out houseboats
- Fill freshwater tanks
- Run shuttle boats
- Operate and park all boats as necessary
- Clean rental boats and work boats
- Customer service
- Maintain clean work areas on the dock and on boats
- After Hours Boat Tows as needed
- Supplies inventory
- Monitor winches
- Buoy, Dock, System Checks
- Repairs to docks & slips
- Replace worn bumpers
- Replace dock cleats
- Repair/Replace Dock Boards etc.
- Clean Docks and Slips
- Clean restrooms
- Haul trash
- Clean maintenance shop
- Fill propane
- Take carts to proper staging areas
- Wash exterior of all windows and remove cobwebs on exterior of buildings
- Must have thorough knowledge of all safety procedures
- Employees must maintain communication and respect the chain of command
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
- Employees are required to perform their work in a manner protective of human health and the environment and to report any deviations of environmental policy to their supervisor
- Employees are required to be aware of and participate where necessary, in the achievement of environmental objectives and implantation of the environmental management system
- Such other and further duties required from time to time, and as defined by company management
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required
- Mechanical knowledge is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team
- Motor skills to balance and stabilize on uneven and moving surfaces
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques
- Ability to maintain knowledge of safety and environmental requirements
- Ability to be trained on the correct procedure when filling propane tanks
- Ability to be trained in Hazardous Materials Response
- Ability to be trained in Emergency Response
Education Or Formal Training /Experience:
- Ability to read instructions and communicate by writing in English legibly
- Preferred/On the job training provided
