Expected pay for this position is $48.13 - $56.62/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Analytics Program Manager leads and develops teams that translate data into actionable information. These teams assist leadership with decision making for operational initiatives and strategic priorities, including improved clinical outcomes, population health management, financial performance, productivity improvement, clinical research, cost optimization, staffing, strategic market analysis, investment analysis, space or supply utilization, and system integration. The Clinical Analytics Program Manager provides oversight for complex systems of interrelated business intelligence and data management solutions and will manage large-scale analytical projects, create innovative analyses, offer interpretation, build business intelligence applications, employ sophisticated modeling techniques, present recommendations to management, and mentor team members in business analysis fundamentals, the utilization of creative problem solving, issue resolution, and the development of effective analytical solutions. Works with leadership throughout the Ministry to analyze operational and strategic performance to identify gaps, establish targets and devise the most efficient and effective methods for measuring and displaying performance, including training for business intelligence and analytical solutions.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in nursing, pharmacy or physical, occupational, speech, or respiratory therapy
- Experience: 10 years of work experience with progressively increasing responsibility in healthcare, business intelligence, analytics, operations, finance, or information systems.
- 5 years of experience developing and managing financial, clinical and market healthcare applications, tools, processes, and resources.
- Experience preparing and delivering both small and large group presentations to administrators, physicians, and others.
- Experience leading teams.
Other skills/knowledge:
- Demonstrated ability to manage risk and ambiguity, work effectively with operational staff, leadership, and clinicians to define scope, and be able to manage multiple and often changing priorities.
- Time management skills required to deliver high-quality reports and information in a dynamic environment with critical deadlines.
- Demonstrated analytical skills are required to address clinical, operational and system related problems, to gather and interpret clinical and financial data, and to build compelling business intelligence solutions.
- Extensive knowledge of clinical and financial systems such as Epic, Midas, Crimson, Strata, PeopleSoft, Premier, etc. Excellent analytical application skills (SQL, Business Objects, Crystal Reports, Access, Qlikview, Tableau, TIBCO Spotfire, MicroStrategy, mapping/GIS software, Excel with attention to Pivot tables, PowerPivot, PowerQuery, Data Model, etc.), with the ability to become an expert in new information systems quickly.
- Able to evaluate technology in context of process & reporting needs and utilize such technology applications for creating reports.
- Demonstrated history of using reporting, spreadsheet, database, and statistical applications.
- Must demonstrate analytical skills necessary to analyze both quantitative and qualitative data and find practical solutions to difficult and complex problems.
- Demonstrated deep knowledge of database design principles, methodologies and tools, including, but not limited to, work flows, field structure, table layout, joins, etc.
- Experience developing streamlined user interfaces and building applications that graphically display complex quantitative data.
- Proven ability and skills in leading, organizing projects, team building, training, problem solving, and mentoring others.
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills in order to share complex information with leaders across the Ministry.
- Licensure/Certifications: Current state license in clinical field Epic Clarity data model fundamentals training is required within 90 days of employment and certification within 6 months of employment. Certification must be maintained as new version training is released.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Master's Degree in nursing or other clinical healthcare field.
- Specialization in informatics or a related area.
Other skills/knowledge:
- Experience with payor-generated eligibility/claims data.
- Development expertise with web applications or business intelligence platforms.
