Position Summary
Captivate our guests by giving them an authentic taste of what Northern Michigan has to offer. Work alongside our passionate head chefs by supporting the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes according to set recipes and specifications. We are seeking a candidate with a passion for food, culinary abilities, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring.
- Cook and assemble dishes according to restaurant recipes and standards.
- Adhere to proper food handling and safety procedures at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen equipment.
- Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food production.
- Monitor food levels and communicate any shortages or discrepancies to the kitchen manager.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies as needed.
- Follow proper sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop and refine menu items.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Culinary school diploma or relevant certification is a plus.
