Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician to join our IT support team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to desktop systems and applications. This role requires a strong understanding of various operating systems, including Windows and Mac OS, as well as experience with remote support tools and computer management. The Desktop Support Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring that all users have the necessary support to maintain productivity.
Duties
- Provide first-level support for hardware and software issues on desktop systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems related to Windows Server, Mac OS, and other operating systems.
- Assist users with VPN connectivity issues and ensure secure remote access.
- Utilize tools such as SCCM for software deployment and inventory management.
- Document all support requests in ticketing systems like ServiceNow or Remedy.
- Communicate effectively with users to understand their issues and provide clear solutions.
- Maintain an organized approach to managing multiple support requests simultaneously.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to escalate complex issues when necessary.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on desktop systems to ensure optimal performance.
Requirements
- Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows and Mac OS environments.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Familiarity with SCCM for system management tasks.
- Experience using ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Remedy for tracking support requests.
- Knowledge of VPN technologies and remote access solutions.
- Ability to manage computer hardware and software installations effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Previous experience in a desktop support role is preferred but not required.
