Commercial Estimator and Project Manager
Position Summary:
This dual-role position is responsible for estimating commercial overhead door projects and managing them through successful completion. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in commercial construction. This is primarily an in-office position with occasional field work for job site checks and meetings. This position is not a remote position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed takeoffs from architectural and structural drawings to determine materials, quantities, and labor requirements.
- Review and interpret project specifications, plans, and contract documents to accurately define the scope of work.
- Prepare accurate estimates for commercial overhead door projects, factoring in materials, labor, equipment, and timelines.
- Submit bids in response to invitations to bid and RFPs on public and private projects.
- Manage awarded projects from contract to completion, including scheduling, resource coordination, and client communication.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, general contractors, and suppliers.
- Monitor project progress, resolve issues proactively, and ensure on-time, on-budget completion.
- Support installation teams by providing technical guidance and helping resolve field-related challenges.
- Maintain organized documentation for all estimates, submittals, contracts, change orders, and project updates.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in estimating and project management in commercial construction or a related field (minimum of 3 years preferred).
- Overhead door experience is a plus but not required—we will train the right candidate with strong construction estimating skills.
- Ability to perform accurate takeoffs and interpret architectural and structural drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with construction bid platforms and project management processes.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to managing responsibilities.
- Proficiency with estimating and project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Procore, or similar).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Work Environment:
Primarily office-based, with occasional field visits. This is not structured as a remote or hybrid position.
Compensation & Benefits:
Expected salary range: $73,000 to $83,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
