Beginning Salary Range: $95,000 - $110,000

About this opportunity:

We are seeking a full-time Senior Estimator to join our team in our Colorado office. This individual will work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure quality project delivery, acting in both General Contracting and Construction Management capacities.

 

Job responsibilities include:

  • Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
  • Negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to determine project requirements and identify potential cost factors.
  • Utilize industry-standard estimation software and tools to generate detailed and competitive bids.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to obtain pricing and cost information.
  • Prepare preliminary construction schedules and coordinate all aspects of preconstruction.
  • Review project specifications and drawings to assist in development of bid packages.
  • Evaluate bids from subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Monitor project costs throughout construction process, identify any discrepancies, analyze project expenditures against budgeted targets.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with company vendors and subcontractors
  • Collaborate with project managers and other team members to create cost effective solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records pertaining to the projects.
  • Preparation of detailed reports.

 

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Education and experience: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field, and at least 5-7 years of commercial preconstruction experience.
  •  Estimating Background: Knowledge and experience providing conceptual and detailed cost estimates on multiple disciplines for new construction and renovation projects. We are looking for someone with strong construction knowledge and the ability to develop estimates without drawings.
  • Eye for Details: Accuracy is critical for success in this role. Candidate must have superior organizational, communication (both written and verbal) and decision-making skills.
  • Leadership Skills: Creativity and confidence in solving problems as part of a team.
  • Tech know how: A strong background in using all Microsoft Office programs, On-Screen Takeoff, Planswift, Adobe Acrobat/Bluebeam, ProEst, Building Connected, BidNet, MS Project as well as adept in using general computer software. Experience with building modeling software is preferred.

Base pay is positioned within the beginning salary range based on several factors including a candidate’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity.
