Accounts Payable Specialist
PacBio is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Accounts Payable Specialist to join our dynamic accounting team based in Menlo Park, CA. This role is a key contributor to our accounts payable function, responsible for processing invoices, reconciling statements, and ensuring compliance with company policies, SOX, and other regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with strong organizational and communication skills, eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Research and resolve vendor and supplier inquiries, maintaining a proactive approach to issue resolution.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors through clear and professional communication.
- Ensure payment approvals are processed in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Review and process employee expense reports, verifying policy compliance and ensuring timely reimbursement.
- Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), internal controls, company policies and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate and organized documentation of all accounts payable transactions.
- Assist the accounting team with ad hoc projects and requests, as needed.
- Calculate and remit sales and use taxes in accordance with state and local regulations.
- Support year-end 1099 reporting and filing.
Required Qualifications:
- Two plus years of accounts payable experience in a publicly traded company.
- Experience with SAP or other robust ERP systems.
- Strong understanding of SOX compliance and related internal controls.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SAP and Kofax.
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Industry experience in life sciences, healthcare, or technology.
Non-Field Based Employees are required to be onsite Monday-Thursday (Friday work from home). Depending on the role, some employees may be required to be 100% onsite.
