JOB DESCRIPTION

HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

REQUIREMENTS: · Associate degree, certificate or equivalent in Business, Human Resources or related field.· 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience in Human Resources in a professional office environment or equivalent combination of education and experience. PREFERRED: · Bachelor’s degree in business management, Human Resources, or related field. · Working in a school or mental health facility setting.· Experience utilizing an HRIS system.

OBJECTIVE: Assist the Human Resources Manager with the overall operation of the Human Resources Department. Works in concert with the support staff to facilitate the efficient operation of the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Information & Record Management 1. Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database.2. Maintains Personnel files.3. Maintains identified employee trainings records in the Human Resource Information System. Recruiting & Orientation1. Maintains job postings.2. Assists with recruitment selection process to include but not limited to phone screens and communication with potential new hires.3. Conducts sanction checks for identified new hires.4. Conducts reference checks as requested.5. Assigns and tracks new hire trainings.6. Completes and retains employee I-9s.7. Orients new employees with the time clock and procedures.

Employee Benefit Administration

1. Assists Human Resource Manager with communicating insured fringe benefits to employees.

2. Monitors and maintains the completion of necessary applications and forms for all fringe benefits programs.

3. Enters and maintains insured benefits in both the human resource information system and vendor system of record.

4. Reconciles monthly fringe benefit invoices to ensure accuracy.

5. Assists with the administration of the tax deferred annuity plan by monitoring employee eligibility for employer contributions, processing semi-monthly contributions, employee status changes, loan repayments and required disclosure distribution.

6. Administers employee recognition programs.

7. Maintains and tracks tuition reimbursements.

General Human Resources Administration

1. Completes requests for employment verifications.

2. Enters and tracks workers compensation claims.

3. Completes unemployment requests and forms.

4. Serves as secretary to the safety committee, compiles monthly safety committee reports, creates monthly agenda and takes minutes during safety committee meeting.

5. Assist the Human Resources Manager as a second point of contact to employees regarding employee relations inquiries, necessary communications, policies and procedures and other functions of the

Human Resources department.

6. Completes and maintains the sanction /exclusion screenings report each month for the designated employees and vendors.

7. Reconciles invoices for services provided to the Human Resource Department.

General Administration

1. Updates staff mailboxes as needed.

2. Assists the Business Office with administrative duties by performing a variety of tasks, which may include filing, duplicating and distributing materials and composing lists, reports and statistical data.

3. Performs other duties or responsibilities as may be assigned by supervisor.

PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Maintains familiarity with Pace policies and procedures, and complies with established employment procedures (i.e., use of sick leave, dress code, use of personal cell phone, Internet and email acceptable user policies).

2. Participates in professional development goal setting and annual summative evaluation with supervisor according to established procedures and timelines.

3. Actively participates in continuing professional development activities for staff.

4. Interacts with others in a professional manner that demonstrates understanding of the operations and goals of the school.

5. Actively participates on, and/or serves as chair of, a school-wide committee that impacts school-wide programming, as assigned or requested.

6. Performs other duties or responsibilities as may be assigned by supervisor

SENSORY ABILITIES

· Visual acuity to read written material, computer screen, multimedia screen.

· Auditory acuity to be able to use the telephone, listen to questions/concerns.

· Ability to speak clearly and distinctly.

SPECIFIC SKILLS

· Must have excellent interpersonal skills.

· Must be proficient user of software applications that include word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets, databases and payroll software.

· Ability to operate office equipment.

· Ability to use technology equipment accurately.

· Must maintain confidentiality of information.

OTHER

This position is considered a covered position under the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare, Medical Assistance Bulletin 99-11-05. In accordance with the bulletin, Pace is required to screen covered positions on a monthly basis to determine if they have been excluded from participation in Medicare, Medicaid or any other federal health care program.

  • Twelve months
  • Occasional early mornings and evenings

Pay: $43,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
