Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient service skills, and adherence to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and care.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process.
- Schedule and confirm appointments, ensuring efficient use of time slots.
- Manage phone calls with professionalism, addressing inquiries and directing calls appropriately.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with health information management standards.
- Process patient information and verify insurance details.
- Handle clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining organized medical records.
- Communicate effectively with medical staff regarding patient needs and concerns.
- Utilize knowledge of dental terminology and medical terminology to assist in patient care.
- Provide bilingual support in Spanish when necessary to enhance patient communication.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar clerical role is preferred.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Excellent patient service skills with a friendly demeanor.
- Proficient in health information management practices.
- Familiarity with medical and dental terminology is highly desirable.
- Exceptional phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
