The Job
We are looking to add multiple Sales Development Representatives to our Chicago sales team. The SDR position spearheads the generation of new business opportunities, working closely with Sales Engineers, Managers, and Directors. Key responsibilities include cold calling to potential clients, nurturing relationships within a customer network to drive sales growth, and taking ownership of the broad end of the sales funnel. The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach in scheduling high-quality sales opportunities. Proficiency in utilizing CRM tools to track activities and streamline the sales process is essential for success in this role.
The Responsibilities
- Generates new business and leads on an ongoing basis.
- Works to find new sales leads through ZoomInfo, business directories, Industry verticals, google earth.
- Collects sales data to track effectiveness of outreach efforts and changes approach to improve results.
- Understands and communicates incentive programs/offerings to customers, when appropriate.
- Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database / CRM.
- Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
- Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
- Maintain a self-starter attitude while creating outreach strategies for new lead generation methods.
- Support senior sales teams and sales representatives on outbound strategies and lead generating efforts.
- Monitor and attend meetings with prospects while handling the introductions and follow-up with the sales representatives.
- Be the first point of contact for new business prospects and determine the next steps for each prospect moving forward.
- Establish active communication and engagement with prospects to create new leads and sales openings.
- Collaborate with sales teams by bringing innovative lead generation ideas to each weekly meeting.
This position has a base salary of $50,000 with $20,000 in bonuses through the first 4 quarters, and an expected first year OTE of $80,000 - $90,000.
Qualifications

- Great attitude and a sense of humor.
- Experience in a B2B sales environment.
- Experience in a proactive outbound sales environment.
- E.V. experience not required, but is a great perk.
- Desire to work with a fun, fast-paced team and make an impact in a play-to-win atmosphere.
- Must be detailed-oriented, able to work independently, and autonomously manage schedule.
- Must be able to multi-task and handle a high volume of projects.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite & Auditing software or committed to master necessary tools.
- Knowledge of electrical principles and lighting systems/controls strongly preferred.
Your Education & Experience
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and 1-2 years experience in B2B sales; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
