What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Controller position at Pacific International Executive Search?
Our client has been a Fortune 500 company for 65 years, with a global turnover of over $8.5 billion. As a market leader within the industrial manufacturing and construction business, they are currently undergoing a global transformation within manufacturing, as well as the implementation of a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program. Whilst competition in the market grows daily, they are constantly looking for ways to strive for excellence and improve the standard facility by facility. To support this, there is a big focus on capital projects, driving the improvement initiatives across safety, capital, cost, quality and productivity improvement.
With this, they are looking for a talented and forward thinking individual to drive capital projects in a brand new exciting greenfield site, working alongside maintenance and the Regional Engineering leaders.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities.
- Lead the Safety Brand, driving the message that all accidents are preventable, safety is everyone’s responsibility and that working safely is a condition of employment.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and environmentally compliant work environment for all employees, contractors and visitors.
- Mentor the PIV safety program as Warehouse Leader and directly lead warehouse associates.
- Collaborate with the Human Resources Team to select talent and ensure the proper training, tools, processes and systems are in place to empower our people to deliver against performance objectives are in place.
- Participate in the development of operational objectives for the plant and ensure that they are aligned to Corporate and Division strategic objectives.
- Ensure that there is an effective and efficient system of internal controls, including data integrity, asset protection, segregation of duties, budgeting, financial reporting, information systems and adherence to corporate policies and governmental regulations (GAAP, SOX compliance, etc.)
- Drive a robust representation letter process that provides assurance and visibility to a sound internal control environment.
- Lead financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Prepare and delivers the plant financial forecasts and projections to the Plant Leader.
Qualifications needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or relevant discipline a must. MBA, CMA, CPA preferred.
- Experience as a finance leader or plant controller in a manufacturing environment.
- Tenured experience operating in a range of economic conditions, i.e., expansion, contraction, stable economic conditions—forecasting, scenario planning, risk analysis and contingency development.
- Possession of strong financial acumen with demonstrated analytical ability accompanied by knowledge of corporate finance and manufacturing costing principles—understands P&L and balance sheet dynamics.
