Job Summary:

Under policy direction from the COO, the HR Director is responsible for providing HR support to management-level team members to ensure efficiency and HR compliance of the organization. Responsible for management of confidential data pertaining to employees, recruiting, hiring, coaching, benefits and payroll. The HR Director will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the HR department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent strategy.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the daily workflow of the HR department.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
  • Oversee and participate in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of new staff
  • Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization’s human resource compliance and strategy needs.
  • Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management and creates job ads and job descriptions.
  • Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization’s human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system.
  • Monitors and ensures the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
  • Anticipate and resolve litigation risks.
  • Mediating and suggesting solutions to employee disputes.
  • Managing employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement accounts, HSA accounts and paid time off and audits information for accuracy.
  • Manage monthly and bi-weekly payroll preparation by providing relevant data, like absences, bonuses and leaves.
  • Abides by all safety rules set forth by company and government regulatory agencies and ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
  • Ensuring the company handbook is compliant with the latest federal, state, and local laws and regulations and updating it to reflect any changes as needed.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Knowledge of labor legislation.
  • Experience in proactive employee relations, recruitment and staffing.
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment law including knowledge of EEO, FMLA, ADA, unemployment and worker’s compensation.
  • Ability to be detail oriented and able to handle multiple priorities and tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality involving sensitive manners.
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace.
  • Great organizational skills, ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Takes initiative and self-reliance when performing tasks.
  • Strong detail-orientation and accuracy, organization and time management.
Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least five years of human resource management experience is required.
  • HRCI and/or SHRM Certification preferred.
  • Strong business acumen and leadership abilities
Compensation and Benefits:

Salary : $85,000 - $125,000
