Hiring Range: $25.38-$31.73
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Pro-rated based on hours/week.
Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU) was founded as a 501(c) (3) non-profit medical institution in 2005 aimed at increasing access to health care in medically underserved areas of the Pacific Northwest.
The University currently offers the degrees of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Master of Arts in Medical Science, and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy enrolling over 550 students annually with plans to develop other programs and/or colleges. Interprofessional education partnerships with other universities adds another 100 students to the population. The campus includes 300 employees with academic programming spread over a five state region.
PNWU is located in Yakima, WA, a city of approximately 95,000 located in the south central part of the state near the eastern slopes of the Cascade Mountains in a major agricultural and outdoor recreation region. General Summary:
The Event and Stewardship Manager plays a key role in advancing Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU) philanthropic mission by planning and executing impactful donor-focused events and implementing a comprehensive stewardship program. This position is responsible for creating meaningful engagement opportunities that strengthen donor relationships, recognize contributions, and inspire ongoing support. The Event and Stewardship manager reports to the Director of Advancement Operations.
Essential Job Functions:
Event Management:
• Plan, coordinate, and execute high-quality donor events, including recognition ceremonies, fundraising galas, alumni gatherings, and stewardship receptions.
• Develop and manage event timelines, budgets, and logistics, to align with PNWU’s strategic fundraising goals.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including university leadership, development team members, and external vendors, to ensure seamless event execution.
• Curate engaging event experiences that effectively highlight PNWU’s mission, impact, and donor contributions.
• Assess event success through participant feedback, engagement metrics, and fundraising outcomes to improve future events.
Donor Stewardship:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive stewardship program to acknowledge and engage donors at all giving levels.
• Personalize stewardship efforts through tailored impact reports, appreciation initiatives, and donor recognition opportunities.
• Oversee donor recognition programs, including naming opportunities, acknowledgment letters, and annual giving societies.
• Ensure strategic donor engagement by continuously evaluating and enhancing stewardship efforts.
• Performs other related duties as assigned and based on departmental need.
Requirements
Education:
• Required: Bachelor's Degree
Experience:
• Required: 1-3 years
• Preferred: Experience working with donor databases and CRM systems
• Required: Strong background in event management, donor stewardship, and relationship-building within a fundraising environment

Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities; advanced written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment; ability to work with high level of professionalism and discretion with donors and stakeholders; ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for event executions; strong organizational skills and attention to detail; and ability to create experiences that foster lasting connections with PNWU’s supporters.
