Job Summary
The Safety and Compliance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring workplace safety and regulatory compliance across the company. This role involves enforcing safety programs, managing compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and leading employee training initiatives. The ideal candidate will collaborate with management and employees to foster a culture of safety and compliance while minimizing risks and ensuring adherence to industry regulations and standards.
Duties
- Implement and maintain workplace safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure employees receive regular safety training to include, but limited to hazard recognition, emergency procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and governmental regulations.
- Maintain safety records and training documentation.
- Maintain compliance documentation, including permits, certifications, and licenses.
- Work with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions for compliance issues.
- Stay up to date with changes in safety and environmental regulations.
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports as required by OSHA, DOT, and other governing bodies.
- Coordinate emergency response plans, including fire drills, evacuation procedures and first aid readiness.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of experience in a safety, compliance, or regulatory role (industry-specific experience preferred).
- OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, or other relevant compliance certifications, preferred.
- Strong knowledge of workplace safety laws and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and training skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to write reports and enforce policies effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and compliance tracking software (KPA, AVETTA and ISN).
- Experience with Tenna; Geotab or other vehicle and equipment monitoring platforms, helpful.
Working Conditions:
- May require travel between job sites or office locations.
- Potential exposure to industrial construction or environmental conditions.
