Overview
The Fleet Dispatch Coordinator will dispatch and coordinate the various functions of the PADNOS internal fleet, including the assignment of routes, route delivery, and transportation activities. This role will troubleshoot situations with members of the driving team and coordinate schedule changes as necessary to satisfy customer needs.
Accountabilities
Daily Route Coordination
Utilize dispatch software to schedule trips for drivers in a way that maximizes driver efficiency and ensures timely delivery or pickup of material.
Balance workload across driver team that works with driver strengths, assigning appropriate runs to drivers as fitting their skill set.
Arrange daily run sequencing to ensure maximum container utilization efficiency.
Coordinate with Service Specialists to ensure service takes place within SLA and prior to assigned deadline date or time.
Driver Support
Serve as primary contact for drivers for all troubleshooting types including scheduling disruptions, asset availability, and account accessibility issues.
Collaborate with driver coaches to ensure asset availability and navigate maintenance downtime.
Attend monthly driver meetings.
Container Monitoring
Recommend appropriate container types and sizes to Service Specialist and Account Executive teams, based on turn frequency and material types.
Monitor ‘full-service’ containers and execute service based on demand.
Produce reports of slow-turning containers and collaborate with Service Specialists to arrange for retrieval or replacement.
Track available container volumes at PADNOS facilities.
Qualifications
Prefer 3 plus years’ experience in transportation dispatch or logistics.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data entry.
Knowledge of the transportation field and regulations.
Strong customer service skills.
Proven organizational skills.
Attention to accuracy and detail.
Ability to act quickly and maintain professional demeanor in stressful situations with excellent analytical skills.
