Elite Helical, based in Baton Rouge, La. and Marshall, TX, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Helical Pile Estimator to join our growing team. We are a leading provider of helical pile solutions for Industrial construction, oil and gas, heavy commercial projects and many more applications. Job Summary:
The Helical Pile Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for a variety of helical pile projects. This includes analyzing project plans and specifications, determining material quantities, labor requirements, and equipment needs, and developing detailed cost proposals. A strong understanding of helical pile installation methods and soil conditions is crucial for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Develop accurate and detailed cost estimates for helical pile projects, including:
- Reviewing project plans, geotechnical reports, and other contract documents.
- Performing quantity takeoffs for helical piles, accessories, and other materials.
- Analyzing soil conditions and determining appropriate pile specifications.
- Researching and analyzing current market pricing for materials and labor.
- Preparing detailed cost breakdowns and bid proposals.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure accurate and complete estimates.
- Develop project schedules and resource allocation plans as needed for estimating purposes.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies related to helical pile installation.
- Prepare and present cost reports and project updates to management.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of estimates, plans, and other project documents.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in helical pile installation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Assist with the bidding process, including preparing bid documents and proposals.
- Participate in project post-bid reviews and analysis.
- Travel to project sites as needed for site assessments and pre-bid meetings.
Position Requirements
Qualifications:
- Experience in helical pile estimating.
- Strong understanding of helical pile systems, installation methods, and soil mechanics.
- Proficiency in quantity takeoff software and estimating software.
- Experience with reading and interpreting geotechnical reports.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented and highly accurate.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience with specific helical pile brands and systems.
- Familiarity with local soil conditions and interpretation of geotechnical surveys.
