JOB TITLE: Pediatric Nurse-Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse
Position Summary:
The Licensed Practical Nurse or RN will provide compassion, clinical expertise while conducting patient assessments and implementing nursing care plans to foster quality outcomes. In this role the LPN will have the opportunity to apply sound judgment and clinical expertise to all patient populations within the patient care setting
Essential Job Functions:
As a Clinical Floor Nurse RN or LPN:
· Rooming patients including obtaining and recording all patient clinical vitals as appropriate for visit type
· Documenting and administering vaccines/injections
· Performing labs as needed in an accurate and timely manner
· Cleaning and stocking exam rooms
· Assisting the physician with general patient care and medical coding
· Confers with Nursing Manager / Lead as it relates to patient care outcomes
· Interacts on a continuous basis with other departments by directing activities towards positive outcomes
· Screens and performs a physical assessment of patients to ensure safety and appropriateness of test ordered
· Assess patient's status, analyze and interpret information for intervention
· Work with physicians to facilitate quality patient care
As a Triage Nurse (RN only):
· Recognize emergencies; inform appropriate medical provider; react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
· Interview and take patient history as needed to provide appropriate consultation and advice, scheduling patient appointment appropriately according to urgency and severity of concern
· Maintain the patient’s medical record including triage notes, lab review follow up, prescription management, Prior Authorization review and medical notes.
· Convey lab results and medical information to patients at provider’s request
· Review and complete medical forms as requested by patient
· Depending on individual abilities, additional responsibilities may be assigned per provider or practice need

Skills and Abilities:
· BLS (Required)
· Ability to apply sound judgment with clinical skills to ensure optimal patient care
· Accepts and supports changes in work assignments as related to department and patient needs.
· Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective quality outcomes
· Experience with Medent and Electronic Medical Records preferred
· Skilled in the use of medical equipment utilized in area of assignment.
· Ability to effectively communicate, solid oral and written skills.
Education and Experience:
· Hold and maintain a current state LPN or RN license
· Minimum 1-3 years experience in a pediatric setting
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
· Manual dexterity for using an adding machine/calculator and computer keyboard.
· Ability to stoop and bend.
· Ability to read data on the computer monitor and written documents.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
