What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician II position at Paradigm Operating Co, LLC?
As a Maintenance Technician II, you will work with the Maintenance Supervisor to repair/troubleshoot production equipment. Other duties will include maintaining the facility, reading schematics and manuals, and participating in safety initiative to work with minimum disruption to production. This position will work around various machines and closely with others in addition to working alone. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am to 4:30pm. Some shifts may run over scheduled out time. Mandatory overtime per business demands.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Helps to maintain a safe work environment for all our employees by properly training employees with established lock out tag out procedures and operation of machinery. Acts as a role model to others regarding safe work practices.
- Recommends improvements of facilities, equipment, or procedures to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Adheres to established schedules and procedures for the preventative maintenance program.
- Provides high level of customer service while answering operator questions and provides information relating to projects including resolving problems, handling complaints and providing technical expertise with the operation of machinery.
- Assists with the development, updating and maintaining procedures and documentation for all Standard Operating Procedures and, based on equipment capabilities, makes recommendations on production procedure changes.
- Mentor and develop technicians to meet current and future business requirements.
- Assist with identifying and leading training needs for new or modified equipment lines.
- Drive the development and implementation of maintenance improvement processes aimed at improving overall equipment availability and reliability.
- Assist the Maintenance Manager on special projects.
- Maintain inventory in CMMS and take lead during monthly and annual inventory audits. Order parts as needed.
- Oversee forklift fleet maintenance. Making sure they are ready for service. Maintaining all records in compliance with all OSHA regulations
Required Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of three years of maintenance experience working in a similar environment.
- Must have a broad range of manufacturing knowledge and be able to plan and think strategically, answer questions, handle complaints, and provide technical operating expertise for machinery.
- Must have a positive style personality with the ability to train a diverse group of individuals.
- Ability to adhere to established schedules and procedures.
- Ability to assist in developing, updating, and maintaining procedures and documentation for all Standard Operating Procedures
- Must be comfortable recommending improvements to safety, quality, and efficiency.
- High school education or GED
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- The employee must regularly lift and or move up to 50 pounds and possess the ability to judge when help is needed.
- Must be able to work in a loud and fast paced environment. The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud.
- Position requires the ability to stand, sit at a desk, walk around the office and production warehouse.
- Effective professional communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- While performing the job's essential duties, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms. Utilizing good hand dexterity; and kneeling, crawling and twisting to inspect equipment.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to fumes, dirt, vinyl dust, or airborne particles and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, chemical, and electrical hazards.
- Temperatures can be hot or cold according to the season.
- Must have good attention to detail.
