The House Manager is responsible for day-to-day operations of the residential program. The House Manager ensures the highest quality services are being provided in the program while complying with all relevant regulations. The House Manager is the direct supervisor for all Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in the program and provides a significant amount of direct service to the individual living in the program as well.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provide quality care to program participant in an environment that promotes their rights, dignity, freedom of choice and individuality.
Support daily interactions between the person supported and staff to promote a culture of positivity, respect, commitment and optimism.
Act as an exemplary role model to program staff by demonstrating great attendance, accountability and strong work ethic.
Provide both positive and developmental feedback to staff members. Assist with writing and implementing performance evaluations, warnings, and supervisions.
Train new staff in all areas including individual plans, personal care requirements and performance expectations.
Responsible for scheduling service planning meetings for the individuals in the program, coordinating with the guardians and case managers around the planning meetings, and writing the plan.
Schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage.
Fully understands and abides by the agency’s code of ethics and all other PRS policies and procedures.
Fully understands all aspects of participants’ rights and is responsible for promptly reporting any evidence of abuse or violation of participants’ rights.
Conduct and facilitate team meetings and ensure that open communication is maintained within the residential staff and address any and all concerns immediately.
Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with all Participants, PRS team members, family members, guardians, case workers, medical providers for Person Supported, and other stakeholders.
Complete all necessary reports and submit (when appropriate) to the PRS Office in a timely manner.
Assist with the implementation of all program related budgets and monitor budgets as needed.
Must maintain medications and ensure adequate supply at all times.
Approve and make necessary edits to employee timecards.
Transport individuals, as needed, using the program vehicle (i.e., to appointments, work, etc.)
PHYSICAL WORK TOLERANCES:
This position is very active and requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching.
Must frequently assist in lifting non-living loads up to 50 lbs.
Must be confident in handling behavioral situations with person supported. Must be comfortable with documenting and following a positive support or behavioral management plan.
While performing this job the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and see to the extent necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED.
Direct Support experience or previous experience in related field preferred.
Valid U.S. Driver's License.
Must have satisfactory driving record .
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Must have ability to communicate well in the program, including the ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language so that the support of the participant receiving services can be met, and so that the relationship and work with co-workers, doctors, therapists and others in the community is successful.
Must be able to perform basic math skills to the extent necessary to perform the job.
Must have or be willing to obtain trainings within the Agency’s specified timeline including but not limited to: DSP, CPR/FA, CRMA, and Safety Care.
Must have adequate writing skills to maintain documentation standards, reports, and any other writing expectation in the program.
