Description :
The Automation Specialist will play a crucial role in enhancing efficiency and productivity through the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated solutions across our internal software and operational processes. In this role, you will provide production support by programming, performing setup, troubleshooting, and operations of automated equipment within the production facility. Additional responsibilities will include researching automation techniques to maximize the efficiency of production lines and help improve the company’s operating systems by developing, implementing, and maintaining automated systems to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs; along with training and mentoring maintenance staff to upskill our internal talent.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS :
10 years of experience working with automation systems in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of electrical and industrial maintenance.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail ensuring systems operate efficiently and safely.
Ability to work with industrial software and troubleshoot hardware / software issues.
High School education or above; certification / degree in Certified Automation Professional (CAP) or similar credentials desired.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Certifications related to automation and / or specific automation tools.
Demonstrated ability to function effectively and professionally working both independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
Desire to train and mentor team members for knowledge transfer.
Glass tempering experience is a plus.
Problem-Solving Ability : Quickly diagnosing and fixing automation issues.
Communication Skills : Collaborating with engineers, supervisors, and team members.

Requirements : YOUR ROLE :
Serve as support to the maintenance supervisor, production supervisors and VP of Operations to ensure equipment is running smoothly.
Serve as support for Design and Development of Tooling and Process Implementation.
Design, develop, and implement automation solutions using robotic process tools to streamline processes, increase efficiency and ensure consistent production output.
Conduct process and system audits to ensure adherence to established quality standards and identify automation opportunities and areas for improvement (repetitive manual processes).
Maintain and troubleshoot existing automations and suggest and implement improved processes.
Prepares / debugs company print programs to cut, grind and drill the glass to specifications. In addition, provides machine training / mentoring to operators for both Ohio and Michigan facilities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define automation scope, and implement solutions that meet business needs.
Create and maintain documentation for automated processes, including workflow diagrams, technical specifications, and user guides.
Monitor automated processes to ensure reliability, performance, and scalability.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance related to automation solutions.
Provide training and support to team members and users who interact with workflows, forms, etc.
Stay updated on emerging technologies and automation trends to propose innovative solutions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
The ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time on concrete surfaces with regular periods of stooping, bending, or sitting.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT :
Minimum 40 hours. Overtime and off schedule hours are possible to maintain production efficiency.
