Responsibilities: This position will provide administrative assistance to the President and to the Board of Regents. Assist visitors to the campus; maintain smooth operation of the President's Office and the college information/switchboard office.
Qualifications: Applicant must have an Associate’s degree; Bachelor's degree preferred. Five years’ experience in responsible employment requiring supervisory duties. Equivalent combination of training and experience. Working knowledge of business communications, spelling, punctuation, and mathematical, thorough knowledge of modern office practices and procedures. Proved qualifications of leadership, accuracy, initiative, and organization. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, faculty, students, and community members; and to effectively deal with potential public relations problems courteously and tactfully. Demonstrated computer skills in Word, Excel, and Access. Ability to use FIS and SIS. Must have extensive knowledge of business operations; knowledge of modern typewriters; knowledge of 10-key calculator; knowledge of mainframe computer systems; and word processing programs; knowledge of shorthand desirable. Must be able to accommodate frequent (20-80% of time) walking, sitting, standing, reaching, and talking. Must be able to accommodate frequent (20-80%) typing, calculating. This position is security-sensitive.
Salary: The annual salary range for this position is $50,000 - $55,000.
Fringe Benefits: This position covers health insurance at 100% for employee. Additional optional coverages include dental, vision, AD&D, life insurance, and long- and short-term disability. Other benefits include retirement under the Teacher Retirement System of Texas, accrued sick leave, vacation, paid holidays, and an employee reimbursement/dependent scholarship program. Health benefits require a 60-day employment period.
