Primary Purpose of Position:
The IT Operations Manager plays a crucial role in supporting and assisting the IT Management team and the entire IT department. This position has a broad scope of responsibilities including supporting the overall business operations of the IT department, coordination of projects, managing SLAs, onboarding oversight, policy updates, vendor oversight, business continuity management, etc. in a rapidly changing, fast-paced IT environment. The IT Operations Manager must be tech-savvy, able to triage and multitask multiple projects simultaneously, communicate effectively with stakeholders and possess exceptional customer service abilities while supporting the IT business operations effectively.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Collaboration: Collaborate with IT leadership to develop operational strategies that align with the company's overall vision and goals.
- Communications Lead: Lead departmental communications efforts (all-IT calls and events, training awareness, etc.) to ensure information is being distributed and shared across the department timely.
- KPI Tracking: Track key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze data to identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve operational performance. .
- Team Support: Recruiting, onboarding, training, guiding where needed and assisting with performance evaluations where necessary.
- Coordination and Oversight of Vendors: Working under the direction of the CIO, working with third-party vendors to procure and maintain IT equipment, services while also maintaining vendor oversight and monitoring of SLAs.
- Security and Risk Management: Ensure the reliability and security of IT systems, protecting the organization from potential threats by conducting internal audits of IT systems.
- Technology Evaluation: Assess and recommend new technologies that can improve the organization's IT capabilities
- Budget Management: Assist in the development and management of the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources. Approval and coding of vendor invoices.
- Policy Management: Establish, review and modify IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Emergency Planning: Oversees the maintenance and testing of the company’s disaster recovery plan and the IT portion of the business continuity plan.
- Provide regular updates to IT management on operational performance through data analysis and reporting.
- Provide support to the IT Management team on an as-needed basis.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Required:

- 2 years of IT operational experience (preferably in a healthcare setting)
- Strong understanding of project management.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
- Equivalent experience may be substituted for education on a case-by-case basis.
Education/Experience Preferred:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Management or Information Systems.
- 5 years’ IT operational experience within the healthcare industry
- ITIL, PMP, and/or CISSP certifications
