Consistent Schedule: Monday - Friday, DAY SHIFT!
Partners In Progress is a non-profit agency offering ever expanding services to individuals with disabilities. Program offers a wide variety of structured activities, social interaction and skill-building opportunities that enrich the lives of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
We focus on community involvement and provide an array of engaging activities to help individuals grow and reach their goals while developing new hobbies and interests. Depending on each person’s Individualized Service Plan (ISP), he or she may take part in goal-driven classes or activities involving things like educational learning experiences, reading, hobbies/arts and crafts, recreation and fitness, cooking, and personal appearance.
Our staff provide personalized support and individualized training to boost individuals’ confidence and help them learn new skills, individually or in a group setting. We encourage adults to participate in group activities where they can interact with other members of the day program and the community.
Schedule: Position is typically 30-35 hrs per week, Mondays 8:00-3:00/3:15 & Tuesday - Friday typically 8:30-3:15/3:30. Day shift/No weekends.
Responsible for the direct support, guidance, training and supervision of program participants. Responsible for the safety and well-being of program participants at all times. Attends to the program participants’ personal and program needs as necessary. Assists the Instructor in preparation and implementation of daily activities. Safely transports individuals when needed using Agency vehicle(s).
Qualifications:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma (or GED).
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Willing to receive Certifications in CPR and First Aid; two (2) years of experience working in direct care with MH/ID population preferred but not required (willing to train the right person); experience in Human Services preferred.
Background Clearances will be completed at time of hire.
JOB KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Must demonstrate well-organized oral and written communication skills. Appreciation and acceptance of diverse abilities amongst program participants. Ability to exercise creativity and flexibility. Will maintain a customer service level commensurate with the expectations of the Partners In Progress, Inc. Mission Statement.
DRIVER’S LICENSE: Must possess a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory three (3) year driving history in order to be considered an agency approved driver by the agency’s vehicle insurance carrier. Driving will be required in this position.
