Job Description:
From: Parx Casino
Ultimately responsible for procuring quality products and services at a reasonable cost. Directs the daily operation of the Purchasing function. Ensures that all Parx Casino service and operating standards are consistently met. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Oversees and reviews purchasing requisitions to ensure compliance with established policy and proper accounting codes.
- Prepares purchase order change notices.
- Maintains procurement records to include all pertinent information about purchases.
- Negotiates with vendors and identifies products and services that will best meet the needs of the requisitioner based on specs and timing requirements.
- Fulfills all purchasing needs for the company to ensure that departments are able to effectively and fulfill customer needs at all times.
- Oversees mailroom operations.
- Manages all areas of responsibility effectively within budgetary guidelines by monitoring and controlling operational and payroll costs.
- Hires and trains Purchasing staff.
- Evaluates performance of direct staff members, and consistently documents both positive and constructive feedback relative to Parx Casino service and operating standards.
- Regularly analyze departmental Job Descriptions for relevance and effectiveness.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.- Three (3) years of experience in purchasing or a related field is preferred. Must have excellent organizational and planning skills, analytical skills, negotiation skills, and strong communication skills.
- Must have a strong attention to detail. Must be able to work all shifts, and weekends/holidays as required.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and through written communications.
