JOB SUMMARY
This position is a highly responsible, administrative civilian position focused on the compensation and benefit functions of human resources, including but not limited to the following: preparing, tracking and filing FMLA applications and worker’s compensation claims, assists with day-to-day health benefit administrative tasks, presents the Agency’s Benefit Plan Options to new members during New Member Orientation and assists with annual open enrollment. This position is responsible for planning and conducting quarterly Swearing In and Awards Ceremony in conjunction with leadership. Planning and coordination of the Employee Wellness Program. Assists with the preparation of FDLE audits. This position assists with the entering of all incentive and education pay, which includes validation for the FDLE required class courses. Assists with annual FDLE incentive audits. Requires strong written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills, as considerable interaction with PSO personnel and outside professionals is required. The employee must be able to apply and explain agency policy, relating to the functions of the assigned Division and appropriate laws, rules, regulations, and procedures. Duties require the exercise of considerable initiative and independent judgment in ensuring that tasks are completed with a high degree of accuracy and on a time basis. “EOE/ADA”
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma and a minimum of two years’ experience performing human resources related duties required. Associate’s Degree from an accredited college preferred. Experience performing human resources related duties with compensation and benefits experience in a public-sector environment preferred. Experience operating a computer with various Microsoft software, including but not limited to Excel, Power Point and Office XP required. SHRM CP/PHR preferred. This position must maintain a Valid Florida Driver’s License at all times. Unescorted CJIS clearance as authorized by FDLE is required.
MINIMUM PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
The physical abilities listed below are estimates of time spent during a typical workday to perform essential functions and responsibilities. Members in this position may be required to:
· Sit up to 7 hours per day
· Stand up to 1 hour per day
· Walk up to 1 hour per day
· Occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
· Occasionally bend, squat, reach, kneel or twist
Other Requirements:
· 20/40 vision (corrected/uncorrected)
· Ability to hear conversation at a normal level (assisted or unassisted)
