JOB OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QA Supervisor to join our team. The QA Supervisor will report to the QA Director and will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and maintenance of Safe Quality Food (SQF) programs to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
Position is Exempt - Salary Negotiation based on Years of Experience
RESPONSIBILITIES:
QUALITY ASSURANCE/CONTROL
- All record keeping and H.A.C.C.P.
- Organize and assist employees to maintain work area clean and organized.
- USDA Liaison and Health Department.
- Coordinate with the Inspector in Charge (IIC), as required to maintain USDA plant up to required specifications.
- Supervise assigned Pasta Mia USDA personnel, i.e., time scheduling, clean up forms, days off, etc.
- Must be HACCP Certified
- Monitor the cleanliness of Production area exceeding U.S.D.A. and Health Dept. standards.
**Not to exclude changing rooms, dining rooms, restrooms, walk in freezers, warehouse, etc.
- Dress code and grooming of employees (pasta production and drivers).
- Weekly scheduling of all direct reports.
- Organize and maintain all areas to meet required sanitation rules and regulations.
- Organize and assign necessary employees to cleaning duty as needed including offices and employee support
- Organize receiving and shipping areas to maximize space and personnel.
- Manage upkeeping and maintenance of equipment and building.
- Monitor work order systems
- Maintain all record keeping and all necessary duties for all outside/third party consulting firms.
- Manage all Quality Assurance including but not limited to GMPs, HACCP, SOP, SSOP, Pest Control, customer complaints and Allergen Programs.
- Create product specifications, using data from all company departments, to meet customer requirements.
- Manage microbiology lab, test raw materials and finished products, and comply with all regulations and GLPs.
- Supervise and manage QA technicians.
- Perform audits for all necessary parties.
- Maintain finished product quality.
- Ensure proper protection (FIFO).
- Maintain and establish minimum/maximum par stock.
- Ensure safe temperature of pasta (45 or below).
- Monitor storage area
- Investigate all customer complaints, concerns, or suggestions (Public Relations)
- Manage two or more people within QA and Production departments
- Inspect consistency of end product.
- Inspect quality of all raw ingredients. Contact in house purchaser to contact vendor regarding product.
SAFETY CONTROL AND MAINTENANCE
- All machines must have operational safety control in place at all times.
- Report to management if any machines have operational problems.
- Follow Safety Procedures, participant in safety meetings with employees.
OTHER
- Anything else deemed necessary by senior management in this area of operation
- In the absence of the Director of Quality, the QA/QC Manager shall provide assistance to staff and notify management of any/all pending quality issues immediately to staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Skills: Strong math and computer aptitude.
- Degrees: High School Diploma
- Ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing and sometimes intense atmosphere, excellent communication skills, Bilingual (English & Spanish) Preferred.
**This is an Exempt Position with a Negotiation on Annual Salary based on years of experience.**
