TITLE :   Director of Sales, Corporate Catering (Chicago Region)

LOCATION :   Chicago, IL Area (Mostly Onsite)

COMPENSATION :   $110-120,000 Base, OTE $170,000 (Uncapped)

SUMMARY :

Seeking an experienced Director of Sales, Corporate Catering to lead logistics, operations, and client services for a large catering delivery business in the Chicago area.  The Director of Sales, Corporate Catering will play a key role in driving revenue, managing client relationships, and ensuring seamless execution of food and beverage delivery services, with a specific focus on corporate accounts. This position is responsible for leading the delivery team, achieving sales goals, and developing strategic initiatives that align with company growth objectives.  This role is ideal for a dynamic leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a passion for hospitality, and excels at building long-term client partnerships.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Sales & Business Development

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to grow the corporate delivery business and achieve revenue targets.
  • Work closely with the VP of Sales to drive business growth through networking, prospecting, and client conversion.
  • Identify and capitalize on new sales opportunities, including expanding partnerships with key accounts.
  • Respond to client inquiries, proposals, and leads with a strong focus on relationship-building and customer satisfaction.

Client & Service Management

  • Maintain deep knowledge of food and beverage offerings to effectively meet client needs and preferences.
  • Conduct regular business reviews to ensure high levels of client satisfaction and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to update and refine delivery menus based on client demand and industry trends.
  • Foster a culture where each client is viewed as a long-term partner, ensuring repeat business and referrals.
  • Operations & Team Leadership

  • Oversee and optimize the logistics and execution of all delivery services.
  • Lead, train, and develop a high-performing sales and operations team, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Partner with marketing to develop promotional materials and campaigns that drive awareness and sales.
  • Ensure the seamless operation of online ordering systems and oversee order processing efficiency.
  • Coordinate with operations, culinary, and service teams to guarantee flawless execution of deliveries and events.
  • Administrative & Financial Oversight

  • Manage budgets, sales reports, and performance metrics to track business success.
  • Supervise billing processes, ensuring accurate client invoicing and payments in collaboration with accounting.
  • Attend production meetings, oversee procurement of equipment and linens, and ensure all necessary resources are available for smooth execution.
  • Qualifications & Experience

  • 5 years' experience in Sales focused on catering or events
  • Past experience leading a catering / event Sales team
  • Past experience selling catering / event services to area corporate clients
  • Associates / Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of off-site catering, event operations, and client relationship management.
  • Passion for food, menu development, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to escalate concerns to leadership when needed.
  • Experience with sales technology, CRM systems, and online ordering platforms is a plus
