We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent for projects in Palo Alto or Menlo Park, CA The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management and a commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring the project is completed on schedule.
- Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and site personnel to ensure adherence to project plans and specifications.
- Enforce safety protocols and conduct regular safety meetings to ensure a safe work environment.
- Review project plans and specifications with the project management team to develop and implement work plans.
- Conduct daily site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with safety regulations.
- Resolve any on-site issues or conflicts that may arise during construction.
- Maintain detailed daily logs and progress reports, communicating updates to the project management team and stakeholders.
- Ensure materials and equipment are available on-site as needed and coordinate deliveries to avoid delays.
- Assist with project meetings with subcontractors, project managers, and other stakeholders to review progress and address any concerns.
- Assist in the development and implementation of project schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
- Maintain weekly 3-week schedule and share with subcontractors and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of proven experience as a Construction Superintendent, preferably in commercial, medical or large-scale construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage teams and coordinate with various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, construction plans, and specifications.
- Solid understanding of safety regulations and a commitment to enforcing them on-site.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency with construction management software (Procore) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to and from the job site as needed.
