Job Summary
The Scheduler in the office setting is a specialty requiring a variety of skills, including but not limited to; front desk duties associated with efficient registration of patients requiring service at Pause Pain and Wellness to include; registration duties, ICD9 coding, data collection for billing procedures, charge posting, maintains appointment schedules, schedules procedures and obtains appropriate authorizations/referrals and provides appropriate patient instructions per physician orders.
Scheduler position schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Duties
- Greet patients with utmost kindness and respect on the phone and via email
- Gathering of correct information to ensure the accurate billing and reimbursement
- Check the patient’s paperwork for accuracy and completion
- Gathers data relevant to patient’s individual need
- Files any necessary department paperwork according to department guidelines
- Answers Phones, schedule appointments, cancel appointments, reschedule appointments and/or procedures.
- Receives and documents telephone messages and gives to the appropriate person.
- Schedules appointments with accurate patient information
- Types various documents accurately and as directed: First Reports, TAR’s and Correspondence
- Gets authorizations from insurance companies for referrals
- Confirms appointment schedule and follow-up of missed appointments
Lifting Requirements
- Sedentary- Generally lifting not more than 10 lbs. maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as ledgers, files and small items.

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
