The Veterinary Practice Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of high-quality veterinary care to our animal residents, as well as overseeing the management of clinic staff and resources.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support all aspects of clinic operations, including scheduling, inventory management, and workflow efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with veterinary standards, protocols, and regulations.
- Implement and maintain best practices for the provision of veterinary care.
- Monitor and evaluate clinic processes to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions accordingly.
- Lead, mentor, and provide guidance to veterinary technicians, assistants, and support staff.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions to foster professional development and teamwork.
- Assist with staff scheduling, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as needed.
- Foster a positive and supportive work environment that promotes staff morale and productivity.
- Interact with clients to address concerns, answer questions, and ensure satisfaction with veterinary services.
- Oversee client communications, including appointment scheduling, follow-up calls, and educational outreach.
- Implement strategies to enhance client satisfaction.
- Develop and manage the clinic budget, ensuring financial sustainability and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor revenue streams, expenses, and financial performance metrics.
- Identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost containment.
- Oversee maintenance of clinic facilities and equipment to ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Coordinate repairs, upgrades, and equipment purchases as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments within PAWS Chicago to coordinate veterinary services with overall organizational goals.
- Establish and maintain relationships with external partners, including veterinary professionals, suppliers, and community organizations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in veterinary technology, business administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Licensed Veterinary Technician or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in veterinary clinic management or related field.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in veterinary practice management software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology, procedures, and best practices.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
