Summary: Providing excellent Customer Service to the customers of Paws Humane Veterinary Clinic
Essential Job Functions
- Answer all incoming calls to the Veterinary Clinic
- Return voicemails and messages from customers
- Schedule clinic appointments
- Maintain clean and organized reception work area.
- Function calmly in situations that require a high degree of sensitivity, tact, and diplomacy
- Provide excellent customer service and exercise friendly, helpful interaction with the public, always projecting a positive attitude and image at Paws Humane Society.
- Possess a clear understanding and adhere to standard operating procedures and the policies and procedures of the Veterinary Clinic Department and Paws Humane Society.
- Be punctual for scheduled shifts, and maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance.
- Must work efficiently, with attention to detail, and demonstrate initiative, motivation, creativity, and enthusiasm for the position and Paws Humane Society.
- Follow the directives of the department manager and perform duties responsibly.
- Engage with volunteers consistently, communicating professionally and respectfully. Including communicating gratitude to volunteers for their service and dedication as appropriate

Knowledge, Abilities, Skills and/or Qualifications Necessary to Perform Essential Job Functions
- Must have 3 years fast paced receptionist/customer service experience
- Experience with multi-line phone systems
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively and use normal or aided vision and hearing.
- Must be able to utilize computer technology in a paper-light environment
Capabilities Necessary to Perform Essential Job Functions:
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing with pet owners, staff, volunteers, the general public and other employees.
- Ability to exercise the judgment, decisiveness and creativity required in situations involving the evaluation of information against sensory, judgmental and/or subjective criteria, as opposed to criteria that are clearly measurable or verifiable.
