SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
The reading tutor is responsible for providing reading tutoring services to students, guiding and assisting with a range of reading activities in accordance with common core ELA standards.
EXEMPLARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Tutor students individually or in a scheduled group reading time using evidence-based reading strategies.
- Assist in developing reading skills.
- Provides support for all reading levels.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure all student tutoring needs are met.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of tutoring/learning materials and instructional aides.- Expert in working with various groups of students and understanding learning styles.
- Ability to relate to a diverse population of students.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively independently while contributing to the team
- Organized and prepared.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students and supervisors.
- Proficient in basic computer programs
SALARY: Per PTA Contract
