SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
The reading tutor is responsible for providing reading tutoring services to students, guiding and assisting with a range of reading activities in accordance with common core ELA standards.
EXEMPLARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Tutor students individually or in a scheduled group reading time using evidence-based reading strategies.
•Assist in developing reading skills.
•Provides support for all reading levels.
•Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure all student tutoring needs are met.
•Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
•Knowledge of tutoring/learning materials and instructional aides.
•Expert in working with various groups of students and understanding learning styles.
•Ability to relate to a diverse population of students.
•Strong communication skills.
•Ability to work effectively independently while contributing to the team
•Organized and prepared.
•Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students and supervisors.
•Proficient in basic computer programs
SALARY: Per PTA Contract
