Job Description Summary: What you need to know about the role- The Credit Support Specialist will be responsible for supporting the Merchant Onboarding and Underwriting teams. We are looking for a seasoned professional who has strong business acumen and financial assessment skills with exemplary written and oral communication and collaboration skills. Your ability to prioritize work, show initiative, exercise sound judgment and be resourceful is imperative to success. Meet our team The Global Seller Risk Onboarding Team vets merchant applications for unbranded products (Pro/VT, Zettle, PPCP Advanced, and Braintree) by conducting a full review on merchant accounts related to four risk pillars of Identity, Intent, Business Model, and Financial Stability. Through this review, our Analysts and Specialists assess risk levels of various business industries for direct credit card processing and may consult with merchants and/or obtain additional documentation for thorough vetting. Our goal is to enable and drive revenue by ensuring accounts are set up with the proper products best suited for their businesses.

- Review and organize information provided for new merchant onboarding, consult with key business partners to ensure merchant information provided meets the criteria for credit underwriting reviews, and research attributes for commercial entities.
- Support global teams with prioritization and deal delivery.
- Ensuring merchant accounts have correct settings established to eliminate roadblocks once activated.
Your day to day
In your day to day role you will
- Collect and validate financial and bank statements that develop a view of merchant financial health and any risk to PayPal’s operations.
- Analyze a wide range of data - business models, external & internal processing data, bank statements, etc. to develop a view on a seller’s risk profile & total merchant entity relationship.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with cross-functional stakeholders for data collection purposes
- Evaluate and share feedback on data, tools, process and assessment methodologies for continuous improvement, aiding to develop & test solutions where suitable.
- You will serve as a credible partner that makes sound decisions.
- You will begin to have experience with merchant education and communication.
What do you need to bring-
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to build rapport with members of other departments.
- Familiarity with the merchant processing industry, particularly risk and operational processes.
- Curiosity and thoughtfulness - a proactive self-starter with a sense of urgency and bias for action, in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in commercial lending, payment processing, underwriting, and credit risk assessment.
- Ability to prepare financial reviews, interpret financial performance and assess credit exposure and risk.
