We are a local Nanny placement agency called the Pb J Collective, and we are recruiting experienced and certified Night Nannies/Newborn Care Specialists! We currently have families in both the Incline Village and Reno, NV areas looking for care to start January 2024!
As a Night Nanny/ Newborn Care Specialist, you will play a crucial role in helping new parents navigate the challenges of caring for their newborns, ensuring the baby's well-being, and fostering a nurturing environment. Your extensive knowledge of newborn development, sleep training, feeding techniques, and soothing methods will be essential in guiding parents through this transformative time. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of newborns and their families during their most vulnerable and cherished moments!
Responsibilities will include:
- Provide specialized care and support to newborn infants from birth to three months of age.
- Assist parents in establishing and maintaining a consistent and nurturing routine for the newborn.
- Educate and guide parents on newborn care best practices, including feeding techniques, diapering, and bathing.
- Monitor the baby's health and development, promptly addressing any concerns or issues.
- Implement sleep training techniques to establish healthy sleep patterns for the baby and promote restful sleep for parents.
- Offer support and guidance to new parents on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and other challenges they may face.
- Create a safe and stimulating environment for the baby's growth and development.
- Provide soothing techniques to calm fussy or colicky babies and alleviate discomfort.
- Assist in maintaining the baby's daily logs, including feeding schedules, diaper changes, and sleep patterns.
- Demonstrate expertise in newborn care, such as swaddling, burping, and babywearing.
- Collaborate with other caregivers or household staff to ensure seamless care for the baby.
- Offer emotional support and reassurance to parents, helping them build confidence in their caregiving abilities.
- Stay informed about the latest newborn care research and trends to continuously improve care practices.
- Respect and maintain the family's privacy and confidentiality.
Qualifications:
- Must have Newborn Care Specialist certifications from a accredited program (or relatable professional newborn care experience)
- Must be able to provide references
- Must have at least 2 years of experience
- Must be at least 20 years old
- Must be willing to go through a background check and reference check
- Be CPR and First Aid certified or willing to be
- Must be current on vaccinations including Tdap, Flu, and Covid, or willing to be
- Must be local or not commuting more than 20 mins-1 hour
- Must be able to work evening hours
Other responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the baby's nursery and play areas.
- Bottle washing/sanitizing
- Baby laundry and linens
- Keep nursery items stocked
Schedule/Pay/Notes:
- Family is looking for a minimum of a 3 month commitment (flexible)
- Pay can be weekly or bi-weekly (your choice)
- Family has two dogs
- Can provide legal pay (W-2 or 1099 based on NCS's needs)
- Guaranteed hours
- Must be willing to sign an agreement or provide your own
