Position Overview:
As the Front Desk Receptionist at PCCSS, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, setting the tone for their visit to our office. You will greet patients with a warm smile, ensuring they feel welcomed and comfortable, and help them navigate through their appointment process. Your role will also involve scheduling appointments, setting up patient charts, answering phone calls, and communicating with our billing company to ensure a seamless patient experience.
You will work closely with our physician and clinical staff to provide excellent customer service and support the smooth operation of our practice. You will be instrumental in ensuring that our patients receive the best care possible, from check-in to check-out.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients with a positive, friendly attitude
- Schedule patient appointments and manage daily appointment schedules
- Set up and maintain patient charts, both physical and electronic (using eClinicalWorks)
- Answer phone calls, address patient inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate staff members
- Communicate effectively with patients and the billing company regarding insurance, billing, and account inquiries
- Provide general administrative support to the clinical team as needed
- Ensure a clean and organized front desk area and waiting room
- Assist with patient check-out and appointment follow-ups
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree not necessary
- At least 1 year of previous experience in a medical front desk or administrative role
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with patients, physicians, and other staff members
- Experience with scheduling software; familiarity with eClinicalWorks is a plus
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and patient records
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and care
- Bilingual in Spanish-speaking is preferred but not required
- A strong work ethic, reliability, and a team-player mentality
Work Schedule:
- Full-time, 8-hour shifts
- Day shifts, Monday to Friday
