What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Start Teacher Aide position at PEACE, Inc. - Head Start program?
SCHEDULE: 37.5 hours per week, 42 weeks per year.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience working with preschool children in a group setting.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Good communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Some or all of the following duties may be performed as required by your assigned site supervisor:
- Working in conjunction with a lead teacher and a teacher assistant, provide a safe and engaging learning environment for all 4-year-old children in assigned classroom, and ensure that they are supervised at all times.
- Assist the classroom team in implementing a child-centered, quality early childhood classroom.
- Assist in completing observations of children. Input daily attendance and meal counts into database.
- Serve as a monitor on a school bus as needed, assisting children with fastening seat belts and making sure that children are safe during transport.
