If this describes you, Peace Outfitters wants to talk to you. Peace Outfitters is an outdoor gear, apparel, and footwear shop that has been serving Flagstaff, AZ since 1976.
We are hiring for a part-time sales associate. This position will work opening or closing shifts. Our shop is open Monday – Saturday 8:00 am – 7:00 pm and Sunday 8:00 am - 6:00 pm.
Duties Include:
- Assess customers needs and provide assistance and information on product features
- Welcome customers to the store and answer their queries
- Assist in the ski shop as a rental tech, fitting ski/snowboard boots, prepping ski/snowboard rentals (during winter season)
- Maintain in-stock and presentable condition assigned areas
- Actively seek out customers in store
- Remain knowledgeable on products offered and discuss available options
- Process POS (point of sale) purchases
- Cross sell products
- Handle returns of merchandise
- Team up with co-workers to ensure proper customer service
- Build productive trust relationships with customers by recommending local hiking trails and activities
- Comply with inventory control procedures
- Suggest ways to improve sales (e.g. planning marketing activities, changing the store’s design)
- General housekeeping of store
Skills:
Above all we are an outdoor gear shop specializing in camping, hiking, backpacking, disc golf, climbing, ski, and snowboarding. We are seeking sales associates that have a love for the outdoors and can communicate that knowledge and expertise to our customers in a friendly helpful manner.
- Knowledge of our local Flagstaff area outdoor activities
- Knowledge of local trails and camping sites
- Knowledge of outdoor activities
- Knowledge of snowboard and ski practices
- Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
- Proficiency in English
- Basic Math skills
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to perform under pressure and address complaints in a timely manner
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift 25 pounds
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
