Position Overview

We are seeking five Material Control Specialists I to join our team at the Port Hueneme CBC Base. This role involves hands-on work in a warehouse environment, with responsibilities including receiving and shipping inventory destined for Antarctica. Candidates will engage in various tasks, from unloading trucks to loading containers, and may also work outdoors in a secured yard.

Key Responsibilities

• Warehouse Operations: Perform receiving, inventory stocking, and shipping duties.
• Loading/Unloading: Safely unload trucks and load flat racks and containers.
• Equipment Handling: Operate forklifts and assist with crane operations as needed.
• Material Handling: Block and brace materials for secure transport.
  
  

Required Qualifications

Must-Have Skills:

• Forklift experience
• Inventory receiving or stocking experience
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  
  

Soft Skills:

• Strong attention to detail
• Team player with good communication skills
  
  

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
  
  

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Additional warehouse or logistics experience
  
  

Work Environment

• This role is in a busy shipping terminal, involving both indoor warehouse tasks and outdoor activities.
• The team size is approximately 25 members, all contributing to the successful shipping operations for the Antarctic program.
