Pennoni is hiring for a Graduate Environmental Scientist to join our team on a full-time, direct basis and contribute to our EHS (Environmental, Health, & Safety) operations while based at our Scranton office in Jessup, PA.

Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct due diligence assessments and prepare draft reports; this includes performing Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESA’s).
- Assist with the planning and execution of field investigations by logging borings, collecting samples, performing field tests, and collecting / recording data.
- Perform field assessments and environmental investigations with a variety of sampling (e.g.: soil, groundwater / stormwater, vapor / air, etc.).
- Field oversight of remediation activities and subcontractors.
- Assist with the conduct industrial hygiene studies such as chemical exposure assessments, noise/sound level monitoring and radiation measurements.
- Prepare field reports for environmental projects to document work completed.
- Prepare draft reports and assist with completing regulatory forms.
- Utilize appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), including respirators; this person will be expected to enter / work in hazardous environments & atmospheres (in a careful and safe manner).
- Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a related technical discipline (i.e.: Geology, Environmental Engineering, etc.); RECENT GRADUATES ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY!
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training.
- Previous experience working in environmental field work.
- Previous experience working with an engineering or environmental consulting firm; familiarity with remediation projects is a plus.
- Proficiency on all standard Microsoft Office software applications.
- Strong attention-to-detail skills with the proven ability to work with a high-level of accuracy.
- Proven ability to work independently in a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to work in a self-motivated manner while effectively multi-tasking and prioritizing multiple assignments.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
